Overview Recognizing Outstanding Commanders
Each year the Department of Arizona recognizes outstanding Post and District Commanders through the All-State Commander's Program. The criteria set forth below allows the Department to properly recognize Commanders and their teams for dedicated hard work and efforts toward the VFW mission.
Posts are the core of the VFW and without your efforts, this organization would not exist. Thank you for leading by example, going above and beyond, and helping the Department of Arizona fulfill this year's motto: "Advocacy with Integrity and Mentorship.”
Commander's Resume and Book (digital or hard copy) must be received at HQ no later than 13 May 2027 (Post) or 15 May 2027 (District).

All-State Awards
- Each All-State Post Commander receives a cap, lapel pin, and Post certificate.
- Each All-State District Commander receives a cap, lapel pin, and District certificate.
- Each All-State Post Quartermaster receives a cap, lapel pin, and Post certificate. QM is All-State only if Commander achieves All-State. Post QM resume due to HQ by 13 May 2027.
- Each All-State District Quartermaster receives a cap, lapel pin, and District certificate. QM is All-State only if Commander achieves All-State.
- The highest-point Post Commander is named Arizona All-State Captain and receives a cap and certificate.
