I am a life member of Auxiliary 5990 Avra Valley–Marana, in District 5. I joined the Auxiliary in 2010 under my grandfather. I have a great group of military veterans within my family, including my maternal grandfather, Donald Bish Sr, a Korean Air Force Veteran; my paternal grandfather, George Slayton Sr, WW2 Navy Veteran; my Uncles Donald Bish Jr & Victor Pallanes, Peacetime Army Veterans, and my Father, George Slayton Jr, Peacetime Navy Veteran.

It was not till 2020 that I became active and immersed in Auxiliary life. I have served Auxiliary 5990 as Trustee, Secretary and President. On the District level, I have served as Senior Vice President.

I am a Tucson Native, born and raised. I have been married for over 20 years to Scott, who is also an Auxiliary Member, and together we have 4 children, Dakota, Savanna, and Twins Madison and Makenzie. Each of my children volunteers in different areas within the VFW and VFW Auxiliary. I truly believe the commitment of a volunteer is demonstrated and starts in our youth, am proud of the dedicated volunteers my children are becoming.
