Lori Byrne
Membership Chairman - Navy

Lori is a Native of New York and enlisted in the Navy in 1980 where she served on active duty.  She served as an Operations Specialist/ liquid oxygen fueler and was deployed to Rota Spain where she met Hugues Byrne, a Marine who was deployed on a Mediterranean Cruise and later became her husband.  When she left the Navy she and her family returned to New York where they ran a successful transportation business for over 15 years serving as the chief financial officer. In 2002 they decided to join the Army National Guard and served as supply Specialist at Army National Guard facility in Burlington, Vermont. During this time, she deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Upon leaving Vermont She Transferred to the Arizona National in Marana, Arizona.

She joined the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1677 in Casa Grande Arizona. Lori was elected as the Quartermaster for the Post 1677 where she severed for four years She was elected as Post commander 2021-2022 Earning the All State/All American. Upon being elected as District Commander 2022-2023 earning the captain of All State team and All American.

 She joined the Marine Corps League Detachment in 2021 and was instrumental in keeping the Detachment on track serving as Detachment Adjutant and Paymaster.  She is a Life member of the Marine Corps League. She is always willing to help where needed she is always the first to volunteer for events and opportunities. She also served on the Casa Grande Veterans Day Parade Committee ensuring that the Veterans Parade in Casa Grande continues, and we always honor our veterans.  She spends over 300 hours a year helping veterans and youth in our community. Lori Byrne was recently awarded the First ever Marine Corps League Southwest Divisions Associate of the Year Award.  The Southwest division comprises the States of Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada and consists of 80 separate Detachments and over 2,500 members. She was selected for her outstanding work with the Marine Corps League and within her community. She was honored as the First Associate of the Year for the Southwest Division Lori is married to Hugues Byrne, and they have two grown sons both serving our communities as correction officer and police officer and one 15-month-old granddaughter.
